Remember, a mammal is an animal that is warm blooded, has a backbone, and has hair or fur covering its skin e.g. a rabbit, lion or a human.

A reptile is cold blooded, lays eggs, and often has scales e.g. a snake or lizard.

An insect has 3 pairs of legs, 3 parts of its body and often 2 pairs of wings, e.g. butterfly or bee.

An amphibian can live on land or in the water. It is cold blooded and lays larva which starts off by breathing through gills, like a fish. When it is an adult, it breathes using its lungs. Examples are frogs and salamanders.

Halloween word problems

Choose one of our word problems to solve. In your comment, write the number of the word problem you are solving and the number sentence you made to solve the problem.

e.g. There are 20 pumpkins and a witch ate 17. How many were left?

Here, the number sentence is 20 - 17 = 3.
